A Little About Us

Jordan and Emma met in 2008, while teaching swimming in Auckland. They are both highly passionate about swimming and encouraging water safety within the community.

Jordan and Emma are extremely excited about starting up their new venture that is Swim Evolution. The Te Hana Pool has a history of community focus and has been a place of gathering in the past. Jordan and Emma feel privileged to breath new life into the pool, and bring this opportunity back to locals in a fresh way.

Jordan has been involved in the swimming world his entire life. Coming from a successful family business swim school in Auckland, Jordan learnt first hand and was able to quickly progress his skills within the family organization. He has a full understanding of every aspect of the business and what it takes to be successful, specifically the level of ability his kids attain in his classes.

Jordan has extensive international experience teaching swimming in the UK. He was based in Edinburgh in 2011-13 and held a swimming position with an elite swim school that trained/taught students that were being streamlined towards competing at the highest level of the sport.

Jordan is well known in the area, teaching alongside Ross Millar Swim School at the Mangawhai primary school over the past six summers. This only further igniting his passion for the region as he continues to grow stronger and stronger relationships with those families involved in the summer programme.

Emma and Jordan moved back to northland from Auckland several years ago and have never looked back. Having started their own family it was important for them to be closer to the ocean and back on the farm where Emma grew up.

Emma Colthurst

Emma has also been heavily involved in the swimming world her entire life. Her father was a part of the team that finished building the pool at Rodney College. Kelvin also supported the Club swim nights for over 20 years. In 2008 Emma started teaching swimming in Auckland for Ross Millar Swim School. Together they started up the summer Swim program at Mangawhai beach school in 2010. She has since gone on to have her own career in hairdressing but always kept her passion and knowledge for swimming.

Emma is born and bread in the surrounding Wellsford area and has also been conscious about being part of the community.

You will find Emma teaching at the pool and being at the receiving end of your emails with a rapid friendly response.
